Cops are the most dangerous people in society. They carry guns and they are a fraternity of like minded authoritarians, who are less emotionally stable than the average American (check out their domestic abuse statistics and suicide rates). They abuse the public many hundreds of times, all over the country, every single day, and they kill innocent people, every year. They do not protect the public. They are not required to help you, by law. And they have no such moral compunction.

Yes, you're right, tey aren't, most are at the Officers discretion, so if you are polite you could get off with a warning for traffic or minor drug violations.
