Just because the wall went down in Berlin doesnt mean that it was only Berlin was affected. The Berlin wall was the representation of the iron curtain which separated eastern and western europe. Now im no expert but i think this song is on about the reuiniting of a continent.

i come from a country torn apart by a 30 year bloody ethnic civil war..... and i use to live in Moscow for almost 2 years before, and now i live in Berlin...... this song just reduces me into tears at times when i listen!! hope the world will be a beautiful place to live within our times°!! i have followed the Moskva to the Gorky park!!!!!
