MOST traders own their OWN membership/seat at the exchanges and gamble their OWN money. That's pure profit! They trade HIGHLY "leveraged" financial contracts called futures. A single stock will flucuate in increments of a penny. A futures contract will flucuate in increments of $5-30! (depending on the commodity) They sometimes trade hundreds or even thousands of contracts at a time! do the math that's BIG MONEY! I'm 20, in college, and i trade futures as well, it's a very tough business.
