The final boss was Illidan until patch 2.4 when The sunwell instance was added, the final boss is Kil'Jaeden. Now that Wotlk is out the final boss should be Arthas who will be introduced in a later patch.

In the Burning Crusade expansion, I would say it's either Illidan or Kiljaeden.
However, the main antagonist (and the one that created all of the problems that exist in Azeroth and beyond) is Sargeras. |
