of people below poverty line in the world, largest number of deaths from malnutrition, diseases (AIDS, Maleria & so on) and largest number of illiterates in world. While the Middle class & higher middle class does fairly well for themselves by avoiding taxes and having best of both western and eastern world has to offer, the lower class remains at the bottom of pyramid forever. Mr Chidambaram did not talk about what his Govt or what he is planning to do to take care of this.

The thing we really have to understand (and this is human nature, nothing about Indians, Americans, Briton) is that we come across to people in western world as highly intelligent, practical, solution oriented & determined (just Like PC & MS in interviews with western press). However, back home, the truth is far from reality. Despite all growth, development & economic prosperity that has happened since 1991 and more recently since 2001, we still have world's largest number of.....TBC

well now that u mention it, that might be true but regardless, me & all indians are indeed very lucky to have Chidambaram as FM & Dr. Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister. We may still be a developing country, but in terms of brain power, even of our policy makers, we set an excellent example for the entire world
