Can we just celebrate the fantastic achievement of the Mayan astronomers without resorting to all this crap about pole shifting?
sugarmmrs (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
apparently this seems weird. because it will take thousands or millions of years for both poles to flip or shift. You probably don't know about the continental drift. It says there that every continent moves 5 cm(depends on what direction) per yr. so that means that we're dead until the poles have shifted. they must've a missed calculations. :)

Mathematically, F = mg, where g is the acceleration due to gravity at the Earth's surface (9.80 kg/m2), m is your mass, and F is the force (in this case, weight) resulting from mass m in gravitational field g. If you are very far from any massive body then g ~ 0 and so you are weightless (F = m x 0 = 0).

well in 2012 the world will not end ...there is a very high energy that is entering the earth right now and its making everything go nuts ..economy ..religion..etc and the mayas say that we will evolve espiritually

see the video "2012 Debunked" on youtube It references peer reviewed data to show that this is wrong.

I find it funny that they say the world will end when NO ONE knows when the world will end. So their calender is just speculation.
