Yes, I have no doubt that they are playing the song. However, someone sync'd up the studio version of the song with the live video clip.
The video is ~½ second ahead of the audio. You cannot hear the crowd.

Look here. Back then there was no such thing as lip-syncing. People could naturally sing without the use of backtracks and false voices. They are actually playing the music
